Job summary

GCP PAPER USA, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a proactive Safety Analyst to join our EHS team. This role develops, implements, and monitors plant-wide safety, hygiene, and environmental programs to prevent hazards and support production efficiency.

Responsibilities include safety training, risk assessment, contractor onboarding, high-risk work permitting, waste tracking, KPI reporting, IMS compliance, CAPA, and stop-work authority. English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Safety Analyst, EHS Coordinator or equivalent in industrial manufacturing.
• English and Spanish preferred (bilingual or strong English/Spanish skills).
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver safety training modules and daily safety talks.
• Develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) profiles and risk assessment matrices.
• Conduct EHS onboarding and contractor inductions; audit compliance files.
• Oversee high-risk permits for hot work, confined space, and elevated work.
• Track environmental waste and maintain logs for compliance.
• Compile safety and environmental KPIs for leadership reviews.
• Maintain IMS documentation and ISO 9001/ISO 14001 records.
• Investigate near-misses and CAPA; deploy corrective actions.
• Exercise Stop-Work authority when imminent hazards are detected.
