Wheeler Clinic in Hartford, CT seeks a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to provide nutrition assessment, intervention and counseling for patients of all ages. The role emphasizes culturally competent education and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The position is fee-for-service, 16 hours per week, with a cooking class one evening weekly (530-730pm). Connecticut licensure is required with ACEND-accredited bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree accredited by ACEND.
• Diabetes or pediatric nutrition certification preferred but not required.
• Four years of related work experience preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with diverse groups.

Responsabilités

• Assess nutritional status and diet history; screen for risks.
• Develop counseling plans addressing health risks or conditions.
• Educate patients and families on nutritional needs and diets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and attend meetings.
• Teach nutrition classes and implement evidence-based curriculums.
• Monitor progress and modify treatment with provider input.
• Screen for food insecurity and connect families to resources.
• Lead community presentations on nutrition as related to health.
