Job summary

Tutor Me Education is seeking passionate tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Gardena, CA. You’ll support students with daily activities, IEP-based instruction, and personalized literacy tutoring in a home setting.

Ideal candidates are fluent in English and Spanish, experienced with autism, and skilled in foundational literacy, including phonics and handwriting development. Flexible scheduling and diverse student needs offer meaningful impact.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish (required).
• Experience working with students with Autism and IEPs.
• Strong background in foundational literacy instruction including phonics, sight words, decoding, blending, and segmenting sounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized literacy instruction focused on phonics, sight words, decoding CVC words, blending, and segmenting sounds.
• Support the development of foundational reading skills through structured multisensory learning activities.
• Reinforce reading skills through guided practice and opportunities to apply skills in connected text.
• Assist with handwriting development, fine motor coordination, and written expression.
• Use sentence starters, visual word banks, and scaffolded writing activities to build independence in writing.
• Support students in organizing and expressing ideas through structured written responses.
• Implement engaging instructional strategies that align with the student's learning profile and strengths.
• Incorporate hands-on activities, technology-based learning, and interactive lessons to increase participation.
