Job summary

The University of Michigan invites applications for a part-time Research Assistant to support a two-year study on mental health and well-being. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Sociology, Nursing, Psychology or a closely related field.
• Professional proficiency in Spanish required.
• Experience in qualitative research is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with participant recruitment, including communicating with prospective participants and community partners in Spanish and English.
• Coordinate participant scheduling, interview logistics, reminders, and follow-up communications.
• Transcribe Spanish- or English-language qualitative interviews and review transcripts for accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in the development and refinement of qualitative codebooks for analysis.
• Code and analyze qualitative interview data using software such as Dedoose, Nvivo, or Atlas.ti.
• Participate in research team meetings to discuss emerging qualitative findings, coding decisions, and interpretation of results.
• Assist with literature reviews and evidence synthesis related to study objectives
• Support preparation of research presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, reports, and other scholarly products.
• Perform other research-related activities necessary to support the progression of the project.
