Job summary

UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Houston is seeking a Research Assistant II (Full-time) to support planning and implementation of school-based vaccination clinics. You will assist with clinic preparation, community outreach, data collection, and administrative activities, with regular travel within Harris County.

Ideal candidate has 2 years of related research experience; REDCap experience is a plus. A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic/translational research under general direction, including data collection and handling biological samples.
• Maintain accurate documentation (notebooks, records, databases) and prepare data representations as needed.
• Keep laboratory equipment and workspace clean and compliant with safety standards.
• Monitor supplies to ensure timely availability for projects.
• Stay updated on procedures and participate in training and continuing education.
• Coordinate work of technicians and staff to ensure efficient, high-quality results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
