Job summary

The Tulsa Health Department is seeking a registered nurse to deliver public health nursing services, including immunizations, screenings and preventive care at clinics and community sites.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, documenting visits, coordinating follow-ups and providing health education in English and Spanish. A bachelor’s or associate degree in nursing is required with relevant clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred; Associate degree in nursing required.
• Experience: Two years of professional nursing preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred; strong communication and counseling skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients, obtain medical history and assist with forms.
• Administer immunizations and preventive care per protocols.
• Perform health assessments, screenings and basic lab specimen handling.
• Document visits and coordinate follow-up actions and referrals.
• Provide health education and counseling to diverse populations.
• Support community outreach and health department meetings.
