Job summary

Tulsa Health Department is seeking dedicated nursing professionals to deliver essential public health services across Tulsa County. You will conduct patient interviews, perform immunizations, and provide health education in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Role requires Nursing licensure (Oklahoma RN) with preferred BSN and bilingual Spanish/English abilities. The department offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth; travel to community sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred; associate degree required.
• Two years of professional nursing experience preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of professional nursing, particularly related to public health nursing.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong writing, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain medical history and assist with forms.
• Reviews admission paperwork and determines funding sources for services.
• Performs immunizations, health screenings, and clinical assessments.
• Collects and prepares lab specimens and coordinates required tests.
• Provides health education and conducts community outreach at sites and health fairs.
• Documents clinic visits and follows up on patient care actions.
• Maintains clinic records and inventory; supports emergency operations as needed.
