Job summary

Dallas Independent School District is seeking a Teacher Assistant-Pre-K Bilingual at George Herbert Walker Bush Elementary School. The bilingual assistant will support instructional staff, reinforce lessons, supervise students, and assist with daily activities to promote a positive learning environment.

This full-time position requires regular attendance and collaboration with teachers, students, and families.

Qualifications

• Assist in conducting intensified learning experiences for students in assigned area and relieve certified teacher of various tasks that are primarily non-instructional in nature
• Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up learning activities
• Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher
• Talk to parents to provide updates on the student's progress, homework, and social behavior

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting intensified learning experiences for students in assigned area and relieve certified teacher of various tasks that are primarily non-instructional in nature
• Assist teacher and students in achieving the objectives of the program or activities
• Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher
• Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up learning activities
• Help students with their daily work and in finding activities appropriate for their homework
• Review class activities and daily homework
• Supervise class breakfast and lunch activities
• Talk to parents to provide updates on the student's progress, homework, and social behavior
• Distribute informative letters to parents regarding their child's progress
• Assist in filing and organizing materials for record retention and distribution
• Assist in maintaining student records, attendance, and files
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
• Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position
