Job summary

K-Day PACE seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to assist the Physical Therapist in delivering services to PACE program participants under supervision.

The role requires an Associate Degree from an accredited PTA program, completion of clinical rotations, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to assess, treat, and document outcomes while educating staff and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required from PTA program.
• Clinical rotation completed with three 8-week assignments.
• One-year experience with frail elderly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in care plan development and discharge planning, with updates to the team.
• Assists the Physical Therapist in participant assessments and treatments.
• Implements treatment programs designed by the PT and collaborates on outcomes.
• Observes and reports pertinent information about participants.
• Instructs staff and caregivers on follow-through programs.
• Participates as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Completes documentation as assigned.
• Provides training on body mechanics and use of assistive/adaptive devices.
• Educates staff on PTA services and limitations as dictated by practice laws.
