6 Degrees Search in Adelphi, MD is seeking a Spanish-speaking phlebotomist for a contract role with a potential transition to permanent employment. The candidate will perform blood draws, label and process specimens, and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Ensure accuracy by matching requisitions and labels and packaging specimens for transport.
