Job summary

Actalent in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist for an onsite contract position. You will perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge as needed, and ensure accurate patient information is updated.

You should have at least 6 months of experience with pediatric and geriatric patients in hospital, clinic, or lab settings; phlebotomy certification is preferred. This role requires clear attention to temperatures, labeling, and timely specimen transport.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ months of experience with pediatrics and geriatrics in hospital, clinic, or lab.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge them as necessary.
• Update patient information accurately.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.
• Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.
