Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, Optum Puerto Rico Operations, seeks a Pharmacy Technician - Prior Authorization to handle member and provider calls, process prior authorizations, and ensure accurate data across multiple systems. The role requires English/Spanish proficiency, Puerto Rico license, and on-site work in Puerto Rico.

Qualifications

Valid, unrestricted Puerto Rico Pharmacy Technician license or the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
Proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, including navigating complex systems.
Proven ability to identify problems and determine solutions, independently or in a team.
Professional proficiency in English and Spanish; English assessment may be required.
On-site training for 8 weeks; full-time hours with possible overtime.

Responsibilities

Receive member and provider calls and process prior authorizations.
Navigate multiple computer systems to respond with medication details/clinical information.
Provide follow-up or consultation on prior authorization requirements and appeals.
Apply benefit plan criteria to approvals/denials and provide general information.
Collaborate with others to gather information and interpret clinical guidelines.
