About the Role & Practice

Step away from corporate quotas, high-stress counters, and unpredictable float schedules. As a Staff Pharmacist at our non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), you play an essential role in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment integrated alongside primary care, behavioral health, vision, and dental services.

  • Purpose-Driven Mission: Serve under-resourced community populations through an integrated 340B prescription program.
  • Balanced Pace & Fixed Ratios: Maintain quality patient relationships with a steady weekly volume (~450-500 prescriptions/week), supported by a fixed 1:3 pharmacist-to-technician staffing model and no sales quotas or speed metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care & Clinical Dispensing
  • Review prescription orders for clinical appropriateness, dosage accuracy, ingredient verification, and potential interactions.
  • Provide comprehensive counseling on medication administration, storage, side effects, and health monitoring.
  • Deliver specialized chronic disease state management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, asthma, tobacco cessation).
  • Educate patients on medical equipment, diagnostic testing devices (e.g., blood glucose/blood pressure monitors), and OTC health products.
Operational Leadership & Support
  • Provide daily direction, guidance, and clinical support to pharmacy technicians and support staff.
  • Assist the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) with onboarding, clinical training, workflow assignments, and policy enforcement.
  • Assume operational PIC responsibilities during the primary PIC's absence.
  • Promote a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment.
Compliance, Inventory & Administration
  • Maintain precise pharmacy logs, patient profiles, and controlled substance inventories in accordance with DEA, FDA, and state guidelines.
  • Oversee compounding, packaging, and labeling procedures.
  • Manage inventory to minimize waste, support cost-efficiency, and prevent medication degradation.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA standards and state board regulations.
Qualifications & Qualifications
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy (or eligible for immediate licensure prior to start date).
  • Experience: 2-5 years of pharmacy practice experience with demonstrated supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
  • Language: Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal) is required to serve our patient community effectively.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal/state pharmacy regulations, DEA/FDA rules, and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred Experience
  • Background in 340B pharmacy programs or retail pharmacy settings.
  • Strong clinical analytical skills and ability to thrive in a team-based, multidisciplinary clinic.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage options.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with a 3% employer match.
  • Loan Forgiveness: As a non-profit FQHC, full-time employment here qualifies candidates to apply for federal student loan forgiveness programs (such as PSLF).
  • Work-Life Balance: Reliable, predictable scheduling without shift floating or quota pressure.
