Job summary

The Lakes Home Care, Inc. is seeking a Speech Therapist Assistant to join our team in New York. You will work with patients across the spectrum, assisting SLPs with assessments, implementing therapies, and documenting progress to improve speech, language, cognition, and swallowing skills.

The role includes collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, developing individualized plans, and providing direct patient care in a flexible setting with opportunities to grow professionally.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
• Knowledge of speech-language disorders and therapy techniques.
• Ability to maintain licensure and pursue professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist Speech-Language Pathologists with patient assessments and data collection.
• Implement prescribed therapies under supervision.
• Provide direct patient care and document progress.
• Support development and modification of treatment plans.
• Instruct patients in exercises to improve communication.
• Collaborate on augmentative/alternative communication strategies.
• Maintain timely documentation of patient interactions and progress.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss plans and progress.
