Job summary

Burkhart Pediatric & Adolescent Dermatology is seeking a Spanish-speaking Medical Receptionist to manage front desk operations and coordinate patient check-in and check-out. The Medical Receptionist will support providers, patients, and families through a variety of tasks related to patient care, organization, and communication.

The ideal candidate will complete all responsibilities accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience working as a Medical Receptionist in a physician's office.
• Fluent in Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written Spanish.
• Ability to collaborate with a creative team to improve patient and family experiences.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Friendly, welcoming, and professional demeanor with a strong commitment to providing excellent patient and family service.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients and families upon arrival.
• Answering phones and responding to electronic correspondence.
• Scheduling appointments and serving as a point of contact for general administrative questions.
• Preparing and maintaining patient charts in the EMR.
• Verifying insurance information and collecting co-payments.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and welcoming appearance of front desk and waiting areas.
• Supporting effective communication between patients, families, providers, and staff.
• Educating staff members on Hispanic cultures and considerations that may enhance culturally responsive interactions.
• Participating in marketing, community outreach, and engagement initiatives.
• Leading or supporting efforts to increase community engagement and awareness of the practice.
• Providing Spanish interpretation and translation support as appropriate.
