Job summary

Lumio Dental in Kansas is seeking a Bilingual Patient Coordinator to act as the liaison between the back-office team and patients. You will educate patients on financial options and ensure a smooth scheduling process while upholding infection control policies.

The ideal candidate has dental office experience, strong customer service skills, and is fluent in Spanish. Hours include Tue–Thu mornings with occasional Mondays; Fridays may be added in Summer 2025.

Qualifications

• Open Dental experience preferred.
• Dental experience required.

• Office hours vary: Mon/Wed 9am–5pm, Tue/Thu 7:30am–3:30pm; Summer 2025 expanding Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls and schedule patients.
• Verify insurance eligibility and process co-pays.
• Coordinate schedule with dentist and hygienist to fit patient needs.
• Maintain patient care database with new information.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
• Direct patients to waiting areas and update wait times.

Bilingual Patient Coordinator

Patient connection starts with the initial phone call. The role of a Patient Coordinator is to use exceptional interpersonal skills and be the liaison between the back-office team and the patient. To be successful you must partner with the providers and educate patients on their financial options so that they can achieve optimal oral health.

Our ideal Patient Coordinator must be organized, have strong phone etiquette, communication skills, and must be proficient with a computer. Hours: Tues-Thurs 7:45 am - 4pm. Occasional Monday or Friday for phone coverage.

Job Specific Expectations

• Handles incoming phone calls and schedules patients
• Verifies all insurance eligibility, receives all insurance co-pay payments, and updates patient accounts.
• Works directly with Dentist and Hygienist in coordinating desired schedule to fit patients needs
• Maintains patient care database by entering new information as it becomes available
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments
• Directs arriving patients to waiting areas, and updates frequently on expected waiting times
• Protects self, co-workers, and patients by following policies and procedures to prevent the spread of bloodborne and/or airborne diseases
