Job summary

Hope Lutheran Church in Annandale, VA seeks a bilingual Pastor (English/Spanish) for a solo, full-time call. The congregation values growth, two-language worship, and mission-minded leadership with a move-in-ready parsonage.

The pastor will lead worship weekly, expand children's programs, and engage with immigrant communities. The position requires ELCA ordination (or eligible candidacy) and a commitment to multi-generational spiritual formation, ESL initiatives, and collaboration with local

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish for preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.
• Cultural competence with the Hispanic community.
• Ordination as Minister of Word and Sacrament in the ELCA or full-communion partner churches (preferred) or candidacy with synod bishop.
• Willingness to treat a fifty-person congregation like a mission congregation.

Responsibilities

• Preach and preside at worship in both English and Spanish weekly.
• Lead ministry with Annandale's Hispanic and immigrant community.
• Help members across four generations grow spiritually, with attention to children, teens, and families.
• Build on a children's ministry growing: Sunday Bible school, Vacation Bible School, and a music program bringing children into worship.
• Represent Hope beyond its walls with neighboring congregations, local non-profits, and local/state government.
• Expand Hope's social ministries, and start new ones.
• Develop leaders to outlast any one pastor.
• Reinvigorate adult ESL.
