Job summary

St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in Indianapolis is seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish), part-time director of music and liturgy ministries for the parish.

The Director of Music & Liturgy is responsible for the effective training, preparation, coordination, performance, and leadership of music and liturgy within the liturgical celebrations of the parish. The ideal candidate will be professionally trained in music and have a thorough understanding of Roman Catholic Liturgy, with

Qualifications

• Experience as a pastoral musician preferred.
• College degree in music preferred.
• Strong knowledge and training in Roman Catholic Liturgy needed.
• Must be able to understand and comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct.
• Must be able to successfully complete Archdiocese Child Safety Training, including background screening.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and performance of Music Worship. Select and/or approve music and musicians for all parish liturgical celebrations.
• Personally perform or direct 3 masses each weekend.
• Provide formation in liturgical music for the assembly and musicians.
• Provide formation, training, and scheduling of all liturgical ministers.
• Responsible for worship aids and technology used at parish liturgical celebrations.
