Job summary

Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking a Coordinator of Music & Liturgy on a part-time basis. You will plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of the parish's liturgical celebrations and music ministry, including serving as primary organist for Masses and events, directing the parish choir, and recruiting cantors and musicians.

The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic with leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, proficiency in organ/piano, and preferred bilingual

Qualifications

• A degree in Music, Liturgical Music, or related field or equivalent church music direction experience.
• Experience in liturgical ministry and parish functions.
• Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing and active parish involvement.
• Familiarity with Catholic liturgical norms and parish operations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and schedule music ministers and cantors for liturgies.
• Direct and develop parish choir and child choirs as appropriate.
• Prepare music for Masses and special liturgical events.
• Attend pastoral and liturgy meetings with staff and committees.
• Coordinate with DRE for confirmations and special liturgy.
• Plan music for weddings, funerals, and other rites as needed.
• Provide organ/piano accompaniment for weekend/holy day Masses.
• Oversee liturgical environment and environments for seasons.
