Job summary

Qualifications

• Fluently bilingual in Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
• 48 college credits or ability to pass Para Pro Assessment.
• Experience with computer systems and MS Office.
• Excellent phone skills and communication.
• Ability to work in a multi-task oriented environment.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates communication for language minority students and parents by interpreting during visits or appointments.
• Interpreting for LEP students and parents with concerns.
• Promote events like open houses, conferences, PTO meetings, and other parent information sessions.
• Provide workshops to help parents understand academic programs and services.
• Refer needs to teachers, counselors, nurses, principals, or other staff as appropriate.
• Assist with home visits to language minority families.
• Report daily to the EL teacher and maintain logs of visits and calls.
• Attend EL meetings and staff development activities.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
