Job summary

Rahway Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to support students under supervision, assist with classroom activities, and help foster an inclusive learning environment.

The 10-month position requires a high school diploma or GED, and the salary is established per the negotiated agreement. Start date is September 1, 2026.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work with diverse students, staff and families.
• Ability to follow teacher directions while assisting individuals or small groups.
• Physical ability to assist students as needed.

• Step 1 with High School Diploma: $15.92
• With Associate Degree or Substitute Teacher Certification: $17.48

Terms

10-month position

Minimum Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• A criminal history background check (fingerprinting).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to follow teacher direction while working independently with individual students or small groups.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including assisting students as needed.
