Job summary

Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. in Laredo, TX is seeking a Paralegal B assigned to manage a caseload before administrative agencies and support TRLA's mission to provide free legal services across housing, immigration, public benefits, employment, and family law.

This in-person position requires bilingual English/Spanish abilities, strong communication, and the capacity to work with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and staff across TRLA's 68-county service area.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Paralegal experience or degree preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication in a legal context.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct representation of clients in administrative or judicial proceedings under attorney supervision.
• Conduct client intakes and eligibility screenings.
• Maintain client communications and track case deadlines.
• Coordinate with team members on case activities and administrative tasks.
• Gather evidence, interview clients and witnesses, and draft declarations and filings.
• Prepare forms and legal documents for filings with administrative agencies.
• Organize and maintain accurate client files and records.
• Provide translations and interpretation as needed.
• Support attorneys with hearing preparation and case strategy.
