Job summary

Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for a Bilingual Paraprofessional at Coventry Elementary School. The paraprofessional provides instructional and support services under supervision of a teacher.

The role focuses on language development, assisting with English language skills, translations, and collaboration with staff to support students' needs. CPI certification is encouraged and will be provided by District 47.

Qualifications

• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain confidentiality of students and their needs.
• Basic knowledge and willingness to learn appropriate use of technology.
• Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking in native language.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate sensitivity to language minority students and cultural differences.
• Provide opportunities for students to practice English language skills.
• Assist students in small groups or individually to complete lesson activities.
• Provide support related to students' needs and families (translations, calls, notes) as directed by staff.
• Assist with test accommodations/modifications during tests.
