Job summary

Crystal Lake School District 47 is seeking a Building Paraprofessional to support students with diverse academic, behavioral, language, and physical needs across classrooms and settings.

The paraprofessional will collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families, maintaining records and implementing IEP-related strategies. Duties include supervision in lunch, recess, bus, and field trips, with CPI certification encouraged and training provided by the district.

Qualifications

• Valid ISBE Paraprofessional License or Short Term Approval.
• Basic knowledge and willingness to learn appropriate use of technology.
• Desire to work with students with special needs.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with teachers, staff, support services and students.
• Collaborate and foster teamwork.
• Maintain anecdotal notes and data recording as needed.
• Support students with academic, behavioral, language, and/or physical needs.
• Assist with transitions, lunch, recess, and transportation as required.
• Provide supervision during toilet activities and assist with adaptive equipment as needed.
• Implement strategies aligned with IEP goals and safety plans.
• Attend training sessions and maintain confidentiality of student information.
