Eyeglass World in Tyler, TX is hiring an Optometric Technician to support doctors in providing quality eye care. You will perform pre-exam testing, review prescriptions, and maintain patient records while keeping a friendly, professional environment.

The role emphasizes bilingual communication (English and Spanish), strong customer service, and the ability to learn optical knowledge. Retail/optical experience is preferred but not required, with opportunities for growth within National Vision.

• Fluent in reading and speaking both English and Spanish.
• Experience in retail/optical is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures high quality patient care.
• Maintains a professional atmosphere and appearance of the doctor’s office and pretest room.
• Understands ocular terminology and common diseases; knows ocular abbreviations.
• Explains types of preliminary examinations to patients.
• Completes necessary paperwork and performs testing before doctor examination.
• Promotes visual field testing and retinal screenings for eligible patients.
• Performs exam pre-screening and reviews prescriptions.
• Fills out referral forms and follow-up paperwork as required.
• Maintains accurate and organized patient records.
• Ensures equipment is properly maintained and stocked.
• Follows store and corporate policies and procedures.
• Participates in mandatory communications meetings to stay informed of policy changes.
