Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking an Ophthalmology Registered Nurse for our Ambulatory Surgical Center. In this fast-paced environment, you will ensure safe perioperative care and support for patients undergoing ophthalmic procedures, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesia.

Requires an Associate’s degree (BSN preferred), active RN license, and BLS. Spanish bilingual ability is REQUIRED, with ASC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license.
• 1-year ophthalmology experience as a Surgery RN is a plus.
• BLS certification required.
• ASC experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Greets and admits patients to the pre-/post-operative area.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care using the nursing process.
• Prepares operating suite for patients and ensures equipment is ready.
• Monitors patient condition and provides support during surgery.
• Assists anesthesia provider and surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains accurate records of patients’ surgical experiences.
• Starts IVs and administers medications per protocols.
• Oversees postoperative care and patient/family training.
• Assists in orientation and cross-training of staff.
• Obtains patient history and communicates relevant data to physicians.
