Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) seeks an Ophthalmology RN to join our ambulatory surgical center team in California. You will provide safe perioperative care, admit and prepare patients, support anesthesia and surgeon teams, and maintain accurate records.

Required: Associate’s degree; RN license; BLS; ASC experience preferred; 1 year ophthalmology experience a plus; bilingual a plus. This safety-sensitive role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within AVP’s network.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN License.
• 1-year Ophthalmology experience as a Surgery RN is a plus.
• BLS certification required.
• ASC experience preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Detailed oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Greet and admit patients to the pre-/post-operative area.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using nursing process.
• Prepare operating suite: cleanliness, supplies, instruments.
• Assess patient condition on arrival and provide support.
• Assist anesthesia provider and surgeon during procedures.
• Maintain patient safety and operative environment.
• Record surgical experiences accurately in charts.
• Start IVs, administer meds per physician protocols.
• Prepare for immediate postoperative care and handoffs.
• Orient new team members and cross-train staff.
• Obtain patient history and share pertinent data with physicians.
