Job summary

Green Bay Dressed Beef LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is seeking an Occupational Health Assistant for our Acme plant in Green Bay, WI. The role blends production and office work, with responsibilities spanning first aid, injury assessments, and data management.

Responsibilities include coordinating with medical staff, maintaining confidential records, supporting workers’ compensation processes, and conducting audiometric tests.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Current LPN/LVN, EMT or paramedic certification preferred; CMA or CNA certification with experience or similar emergency response experience will be considered.
• 1 year experience in vocational or manufacturing/occupational setting desired.
• Basic knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice and common safety hazards and precautions.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English and Spanish (speak, read, and write).
• Experience using office technology including computers, voicemail, copiers and scanners to create documents and effectively relay information.
• Must be able to work hours contingent on business need.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; requires ongoing discretion and secure information management.

Responsibilities

• Administer first aid treatment to injured persons.
• Monitor injured employees to determine if ambulatory care is needed.
• Assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
• Assess employee’s ability to perform job duties and determine best intervention(s) based on knowledge of the jobs and process and makes recommendations to management.
• Observe and thoroughly document the patient’s condition or injury and related events, treatment provided, and reactions to treatment.
• Coordinate with other medical team members, providers, and workers’ compensation adjustors.
• Communicate issues and updates to appropriate members of management.
• Maintain records of treatment and care of employees in accordance with applicable regulations, ensure confidentiality of information, exercises discretion with sensitive information.
• Assist with administration of workers’ compensation and injury reduction practices, and investigations, employee assistance programs and drug policy.
• Maintain and promote a positive attitude toward employees.
• Follow basic precautions to prevent exposure.
• Provide employees’ status updates to management.
• Administer employee audiometric tests.
• Data entry and maintenance of designated information in Excel, HRIS system or designated system, generate reports and perform administrative duties as directed.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current CPR and 1st Aid Certification a plus.
• Occupational Hearing Conservationist certification.
• 1 year experience in vocational or manufacturing setting.
