Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa seeks a Community Engagement Musical Theater Instructor (Spanish Speaking) to develop inclusive, high-quality education programs for participants from pre-K through adult. This on-site position emphasizes flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Demonstrated ability to teach multiple musical theater disciplines.
Professional teaching artist or artist experience within the past five years.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and deliver age-appropriate musical theater education programs.
Develop lesson plans, curriculum materials, course descriptions and assessments.
Teach musical theater skills including acting, movement, vocal production and technical theater.
Create an engaging, inclusive, safe learning environment with strong classroom management.
Guide students in developing original dramatic works and performances.
Direct rehearsals and support students for culminating performances or showcases.
Incorporate production elements (props, costumes, lighting, sets) as needed.
Collaborate with staff and other teaching artists on scheduling, curriculum and participant needs.
Participate in pre/post planning meetings and professional development sessions.
Act as a community ambassador for Straz Center programs.
