We are seeking a Bilingual Medical Receptionist OBS to join our team!
The Medical Receptionist OBS is responsible for greeting and assisting patients, scheduling appointments, managing billing, and performing clerical duties, including providing medical procedural support. The role supports medical staff by completing administrative tasks to ensure efficient workflow and a positive patient experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Engages with patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Greets patients and provides necessary information.
- Assists patients with forms and documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely entry into the EMR system.
- Maintains patient records confidentiality and accuracy.
- Manages patient flow, keeps appointments on schedule, and notifies providers of arrivals.
- Handles incoming calls, inquiries, and transfers, directing messages to appropriate staff.
- Responds to information requests, including sending faxes and emails.
- Notifies families of patient status when needed.
- Schedules, reschedules, and confirms appointments, including reminder calls.
- Updates and manages appointment calendars.
- Maintains patient accounts and assists with billing and revenue collection.
- Creates and maintains patient charts and records.
- Monitors and reports office statistics.
- Ensures reception area is organized and stocked.
- Follows safety rules, reports accidents, and addresses safety hazards.
- Communicates workplace hazards and responds to team requests.
- Protects patient privacy and maintains confidentiality per HIPAA and policies.
OBS Responsibilities:
- Confirms patient demographics and medical clearance.
- Provides post-op instructions and verifies patient understanding.
- Conducts procedure confirmation calls and ensures transportation arrangements.
- Performs related tasks as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Professionalism and positive interaction in person and over the phone.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
