Job summary

Hartgrove Behavioral Health System in Chicago seeks an experienced Language Interpreter to convert physicians' advice, diagnoses, and patient information into other languages, using medical terminology. This role facilitates communication between hospital staff, families, and patients and may translate written documents.

You will interact with clinicians and care teams to support conversations during visits, family sessions, and treatment planning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; medical assistant program beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
• Acute inpatient experience with children, adolescents or adults strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate physicians' advice, diagnoses, and patient information into a second language.
• Facilitate communication between hospital staff, families and patients using medical terminology.
• Translate written documents as needed.
• Provide 1:1 patient observation and assist with communication during care.
