Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta seeks a professional medical interpreter to provide high-quality language support for LEP patients and families. You will perform consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation across clinical encounters and translate written materials.

The role requires completion of a 40-hour Medical Interpreter Training, a year of interpreting with six months in medical settings, and IST success, with preferred bilingual credentials.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; medical interpreter training 40 hours.
• Minimum one year interpreting experience with at least 6 months in medical interpreting.
• Completion of a recognized Medical Interpreter Training Program.
• IST must be successfully completed to verify advanced interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation for LEP patients and families.
• Translate written hospital documents from English into target language.
• Sight-translate materials to support patient comprehension.
• Collaborate with care teams and supervisors to ensure accurate communication.
