Qualifikationen

• Education: Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school; clinical education/experience may substitute MA certificate
• Licenses/Certifications: CPR certification current within 30 days of hire
• Experience/Knowledge/Skills: 1 year of clinical experience in a designated specialty area preferred; ability to understand written instructions and perform basic calculations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend and lift; knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA and general office tasks

Aufgaben

• Performs advanced direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a physician per skills inventory.
• Assists in planning and implementing direct patient care; documents care provided in the patient medical record per Practice policies.
• Collects patient/family data per Practice protocol (biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, medications, allergies, environmental).
• Collects and documents vital signs, height/weight and chief complaint; records information timely and accurately.
• Provides general patient care; prepares patient for examination; assists with treatments/procedures; calls in prescriptions.
• Takes patient phone calls, triages appointments, and stocks rooms.
• All patient care under physician direction and within the medical record per policy.
• Assists physicians in meeting patient/family learning needs; maintains communication with physicians and healthcare team.
• Administers medication as directed using five rights.
• Processes and coordinates referrals and orders for outside tests; reports results to patient as directed by physician.
• Collects specimens.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to Memorial Hermann policies and budgets.
• Promotes professional growth and serves as preceptor/mentor to less experienced staff.
• Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community with compassionate, personalized experiences.
• Other duties as assigned.
