Job summary

SBNC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support licensed medical staff in a clinic setting. You will manage vitals, obtain chief complaints, enter data into EHR, and assist with procedures while maintaining high customer service standards.

You will coordinate patient flow, educate patients on chronic conditions, and help with scheduling, reminders, and authorization requests in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a medical care setting is desirable.
• Knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel.
• Ability to learn medical terminology in a fast-paced environment; bilingual English/Spanish.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care and flow as part of the care team.
• Escort patient to exam room, obtain brief history and vital signs, and enter data into EHR.
• Assist providers with procedures and prepare patients for exam.
• Perform patient-specific tasks after visits.
• Support diabetic and chronic disease self-management.
• Provide patient education on diabetes, asthma and other conditions.
• Verify that standing orders are completed.
• Complete consent forms and provide patient education materials during visits.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and scheduling per SBNC preferences.
• Support Call Center in scheduling same-day appointments considering clinic flow.
