Job summary

VIP Medical Group is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support our Reston, VA clinic. You will greet patients, assist with intake, and help providers during exams, while maintaining a clean, sterile environment and accurate charting in the EMR.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Certification: Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Minimum of one year of Medical Assistant experience.
• EMR systems experience (1 year preferred).
• Vital signs experience (1 year preferred).
• Fully bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet registered patients and triage through the patient flow process.
• Monitor and ensure proper functioning of clinical equipment and escalate issues.
• Assist patients to exam/procedure rooms, including transfers and preparation.
• Maintain a sterile environment in accordance with infection control precautions.
• Prepare exam rooms, clean rooms and instruments, restock supplies between patients.
• Take vital signs, update patient history, and assist providers in exam rooms; input data into the EMR.
• Handle medical records tasks such as sending/receiving/scanning and charting.
• Check dated materials and medications and discard expired items.
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and triage calls to appropriate personnel.
• Provide a customer service–oriented mindset.
