Job summary

Vista Community Clinic is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses with examinations, vitals, immunizations, and translations. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish and CPR/BLS certification, with phlebotomy experience preferred.

You will work in a private nonprofit outpatient setting, providing back-office procedures, patient prep, and education under supervision, contributing to a patient-centered care team.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school or hospital including externship verification of 6 months’ clinical (back office) MA experience may be submitted in lieu of externship
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Current CPR/BLS (Child, Infant and Adult) certification
• Phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers with the examination and/or procedure
• Take vital signs, height and weight of patients; plot growth charts; administer immunizations
• Perform laboratory and screening tests customarily performed in a medical office such as visual acuity, audiometric screening, Snellen tests, spirometry tests and EKG’s
• Give counseling, care and follow-up instructions, health education and materials to patients as instructed by provider
