Job summary

NALHE is seeking a licensed nursing assistant (MAII/LVN) to provide routine patient care under supervision. The role focuses on non-IV medications, wound care, vital signs, and patient education while following universal precautions.

Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, assisting with procedures, documenting patient responses, and coordinating with providers to ensure quality care and safety.

Qualifications

• Under direct supervision of an RN or provider.
• Follows Universal Precautions and safety standards.
• Performs routine nursing care functions as directed.
• Administers non-IV medications as ordered by provider.
• Maintains patient records and documents responses to therapy.

Responsibilities

• May perform vital signs and dressing changes for provider assessment.
• Assist with wound care, ear washes, and catheter procedures as directed.
• Reinforce self-care instructions and educate patients per provider direction.
• Recognize and respond to acute emergencies following procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist during procedures with instruments and drapes.
• Document patient responses and relay information between patient and physician.
• Perform non-IV medication administration and ensure patient safety.
• Collect specimens and assist with basic diagnostic tests as trained.
