Qualifications

• Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes and personnel
• Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching duties
• Ability to multitask with different events happening at the same time
• Ability to work under stress and remain calm
• Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment
• 1+ year experience working with LTL Freight carriers
• Familiarity operating a forklift, a plus

Responsibilities

• Calculate routes and times of deliveries and make necessary adjustments for sales and customers
• Establish delivery routes which are cost effective and compliant with Federal DOT guidelines while maintaining customer service
• Ensure safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments
• Schedule and dispatch drivers, work crews, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to schedules
• Relay information such as work orders or messages to and from work crews or supervisors
• Contact employees via telephone, two-way radios or Outlook email
• Resolve problems or requests for services or equipment with supervisors or customers
• Prepare daily work such as schedules
• Prepare work orders for crew or receive work orders from crews
• Be in charge of communications within company territories
• Keep and organize work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed, inventory records and other information
