Job summary

WestCare Inc in Doral, FL is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to deliver individual, group, and family counseling and to complete the clinical record, including ISP development and psychosocial assessments. The role includes crisis intervention to ensure safety and seamless staff response.

You will develop social histories, respond to community crises within 60 minutes (24/7), orient patients to services, and complete safety planning and care plans.

Responsibilities

• Deliver counseling services (individual, group, and family) and complete required documentation (ISP, psychosocial assessment, daily notes, weekly reviews).
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation to ensure safety; assess crisis severity and guide direct care staff.
• Develop social history and psychosocial assessments, including cultural, religious, and ethnic considerations for care planning.
• Respond to community crisis calls within 60 minutes, 24/7.
• Orient patients and families to the facility, services, rights, and limitations.
• Complete safety planning and participate in development of individualized care plans.
