Job summary

The Miami Marlins are seeking a dynamic bilingual teacher to advance our mission of becoming a fully bilingual organization. You will provide high-quality instruction in language acquisition and life skills, working closely with players and coaches to foster engagement and growth within the academy.

Responsibilities include designing Spanish and English lessons for players and coaches, monitoring progress, and mentoring staff to create a culture of learning across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish with strong verbal and written skills.
• Cultural diversity awareness and cross-cultural communication.
• Pedagogical skills in language instruction.
• Ability to build rapport and give/receive constructive feedback.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Some knowledge of baseball and passion for player development in a multicultural setting.
• Skilled using digital tools for language instruction and communication.
• 3+ years language instruction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Spanish and English to players and coaches.
• Design engaging lessons and high-quality instructional materials aligned with goals.
• Conduct small group or one-on-one sessions to address learning needs.
• Develop language lessons for baseball-specific scenarios to ensure relevance.
• Monitor and evaluate language progress and life skills with instruction adjustments.
• Facilitate cross-linguistic communication during sessions; translate or clarify content as needed.
• Mentor players; provide guidance while upholding standards.
• Educate coaches on cultural differences and effective communication with Latin American players.
• Teach players about cultural norms to support adaptation and success.
