Job summary

Novogene America in Beaverton, OR is seeking a bilingual English & Mandarin Team Operations lead to supervise lab technicians and ensure on-time delivery of genomic services.

You will monitor quality metrics, optimize workflow, implement SOPs, and mentor staff while coordinating with commercial teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• 3 years of related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in molecular biology, medicine, or a related field.
• 3+ years of production lab experience with at least 1 year in a lead/supervisory capacity.
• Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English due to frequent communication with multinational team members.
• Deep understanding of genomic services, PCR, or sequencing technologies.
• Proficiency in LIMS and Excel for data tracking.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and mentoring warmth.
• Hands on experience with NGS techniques.
• Excellent organization and leadership skills.
• Good oral and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

Team Operations

• Monitors quality metrics daily for the responsible team(s) and ensures they meet QCD standards.

• Supervise and guide lab technicians and ensure the timely completion of day-to-day tasks.
• Evaluate team members accordingly and provide upper management with accurate evaluation. Understand team members strength and weaknesses and where best to utilize their skills.
• Train team members with email correspondences with other departments.
• Create KPI and training programs and evaluation standards.

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of related work experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in molecular biology, medicine, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a production lab setting, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity
• Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English due to frequent communication with multinational team members
• Deep understanding of genomic services, PCR, or sequencing technologies.
• Proficiency in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and Excel for data tracking.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the warmth to mentor a growing team.
