Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in a major news market.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English with strong writing skills.

• Familiarity with newsroom systems (iNews, vizRT) and digital/social media.

Responsibilities

• Generate, research, verify, plan and develop story ideas for newscasts and platforms.
• Gather information from broadcasts and online sources to determine coverage opportunities.
• Assign reporters and coordinate crews to gather elements for daily stories.
• Coordinate news gathering and production logistics, including interview appointments and location details.
• Update stories with latest developments and maintain INews data.
• Monitor law enforcement and fire dispatches and social media for spot and enterprise stories.
• Assist writers, producers and multiplatform team with information gathering.
• Ensure video feeds/pools are recorded and accessible.
• Participate in editorial meetings and adapt quickly to breaking news.
