Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking a Kinyarwanda Interpreter on a PRN basis to provide interpretation between patients, families and the healthcare team to ensure understanding of cultural considerations during treatment planning.

Responsibilities include real-time interpretation, documentation, collaboration with translators, and referral of psychosocial concerns to the appropriate departments to support family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bilingual interpreter between patients, families and healthcare team.
• Adheres to professional standards and ethics for medical interpretation.
• Maintains accurate documentation of interpretation activities.

Responsibilities

• Concurrently interprets between patient, family and health care team to ensure understanding.
• Performs consecutive interpretation following national standards and ethics.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation of interpretation activities.
• Participates in department education to maintain skills and competencies.
• Works with Translator to identify documents requiring translation.
• Refs psychosocial issues to appropriate care departments as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
