Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bilingual in English and French with strong communication.
• Experience with children in a school or related setting.
• Experience in/understanding of the public school system including charter schools desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field.
• CDA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher by providing instructional support to students.
• Work with small groups to reinforce instruction.
• Provide clear explanations as needed.
• Give accurate answers to students’ questions.
• Offer feedback that furthers learning.
• Encourage respectful talk, active listening and turn taking.
• Acknowledge students’ backgrounds and lives outside class.
• Exhibit warmth through body language and foster politeness and fairness.
