Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for Columbus Bilingual Central in Columbus, Ohio. The role emphasizes bilingual instruction for K-5, PBIS, and the Blitz academic model to empower student growth and leadership in a diverse city setting.

The teacher will plan lessons, differentiate instruction, monitor progress, and engage with families and colleagues to support social-emotional development and academic achievement. Ohio licensure and a BA in education are required.

Qualifications

• Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to supervise students in various school settings.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.
• Experience working in urban environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify accordingly during the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Utilize research-based practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom.
• Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in.
• Use curricula reflecting diverse backgrounds and bilingual programming.
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth.
• Incorporate technology into daily classroom practice.
• Participate in planning non-instructional activities as needed.
• Collaborate and communicate with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
