Job summary

La Causa, Inc. Charter School in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a School Substitute Teacher for grades K5-8. This full-time, 10-month contract role pays a salary between $48,713.28 and $63,564.91 per year and requires a valid Wisconsin DPI license or emergency license within 30 days. Bilingual Spanish and English are highly desirable.

You will plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction, maintain a positive classroom, and collaborate with families and staff to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Valid Wisconsin DPI teaching license or ability to obtain an emergency license within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with families or in a classroom.
• Bilingual Spanish and English highly desirable.
• Ability to work respectfully with diverse backgrounds.
• Must complete TB and drug testing, physical exam, and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a high-quality instructional program for K5-8.
• Develop and submit lesson plans as directed.
• Maintain a safe, structured classroom environment.
• Support continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Collaborate with families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Fulfill mandated reporter responsibilities and participate in required meetings.
