Job summary

Douglas County, Nebraska is seeking an experienced professional to perform juvenile justice assessments, referrals and case management for youthful offenders and at‑risk youth, involving families, counselors, lawyers and other professionals.

Under the Juvenile Assessment Center Director, you will administer and interpret screening instruments, develop individualized plans with families, maintain records, and collaborate across agencies to support rehabilitation and positive youth development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or Human Services required.
• One year of experience in juvenile justice, mental health, or related field preferred.
• One year of MS Office experience required.
• Pre-employment criminal record check and drug screen required.
• Combined equivalent work experience and education may be substituted for requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Administer and interpret screening/assessment instruments and conduct interviews to determine risks and needs of youth.
• Collaborate with youth and families to develop individual service plans and supports.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, County employees, officials, attorneys and other stakeholders.
• Comply with Civil Service Rules, policies and laws to maintain a safe, respectful work environment.
• Maintain and organize client case files and use the Case Management System.
• Attend required training and ensure regular attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
