Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking highly qualified Intervention Specialists at Lorain Bilingual Academy in Lorain, Ohio, to support students with IEP goals and behavioral plans. You will collaborate with teachers to implement interventions, conduct assessments, and coordinate IEP meetings to drive academic and social-emotional growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or co-teaching in a resource room model.
• Comfort with a growth-focused coaching environment based on observations and progress planning.
• High quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook) and organizational tools.
• Excellent organization and time management; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks (FBI/BCI).
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpret abilities and disabilities, and assist in intervention strategies.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Relentlessly work to meet goals related to student achievement and culture.
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons and interactions.
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth.
• Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
