Job summary

Southampton Union Free School District seeks qualified applicants to provide interpretation and translation services in support of District programs, meetings, and events. Applicants will be placed on a list as needed, based on District needs and scheduled events.

Responsibilities include interpretation during District events and Board of Education meetings, translation of documents, and ensuring clear communication with students, families, and the community while upholding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to interpret verbal communications accurately.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Availability for scheduled meetings and events, which may include evening hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation services during District events and meetings.
• Provide interpretation services during Board of Education meetings, as needed.
• Support School Comprehensive Education Plan (SCEP) meetings and related activities
• Translate documents, communications, and messages as requested.
• Provide clear and accurate communication between the District and students, families, and community members.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling District information and communications.
