Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a Language Interpreter for a temporary hourly role across multiple school sites. The position supports interpretation between English and target languages, both in person and via virtual platforms, with monthly reporting duties and confidentiality requirements.

Eligible for a hybrid telework workweek, Monday–Friday with occasional evenings or weekends. The role offers $35 per hour, nonexempt status, and requires two years of interpreter experience plus

• Two years of college coursework from a regionally accredited institution.
• Two years of experience working as an interpreter.
• Other combinations of applicable education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate oral interpretation between languages in person and virtually.
• Prepare monthly reports of interpretation services rendered.
• Communicate availability and scheduling conflicts promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
